The events of 2008 when two neighboring states turned into enemies for the first time in their history is simply beyond any reasonable explanation. Current developments in bilateral relations of two states are incomprehensible either – at least as far as return of Georgian produce to the Russian market is concerned.

What should rebellious Georgians beware?

"The country needs a new concept. First of all because of the August war and the political situation the country is in. Political stability is needed to render it efficient and able to overcome the crisis. Political stability can be achieved only when the authorities pursue transparent policies taking into account interests of all circles and social spheres", - Sesiashvili stated.

The experts regret that the authorities have failed to present a new security concept. The authorities left the reproofs from the opposition and the expert community without comments. The ruling party prefers PR slogans to the national security concept.

Recently Georgian intelligence chief Gela Bezhuashvili stated that Georgia was working out a new strategy on prevention of Russian provocations. He made this statement after the session of the parliamentary trust group on the situation in Pankissi gorge.

If the ruling United National movement had had a sound concept of national security maybe there would have been no horrible August 2008. And there would be no need in proving that Pankissi is not a problem. Alas, there was no concept, and there still isn't any.
