Sakartvelo leader to answer for everything2011-02-14 21:38
Today the Georgian president will present his annual speech to the Republic's Parliament. He will speak on the social and economic situation in the country and on the reforms. The Georgian leader's speech will be followed by debates that will feature some representatives of the governing party and of the opposition Sakartvelo. And, judging by the latest declarations of the the dissentient, Mikhail Nikolaevich will have to stay on Prospekt Rustaveli till late night.
The recent communication of the Georgian President with his people by way of a space bridge, so long-awaited by the republic's citizens, generated more questions than answers. As oppositioners noted fairly, Mikhail Saakashvili said nothing plain on public health, social security and agriculture. The following declarations of the Georgian leader on the country's problems just embittered the dissentient.
E.g., the general inflation rate of 2010 was 7,1%. At the same time in November and December of last year the price growth in the country exceeded ten percent, breaking the sad record set in 2007. Food keeps on rising in price, raising the bar to 25% compared to last year, but instead of admitting his mistakes in the economic program Saakashvili accuses... China of the inflation. "China has starved for the whole of its history, - argues the President. - And now the Chinese population has started eating. They are more than one billion and a half, they must eat. Moreover, the Chinese have started buying cars, and before all China rode bicycles".
The metamorphoses of Mikhail Nikolaevich's mind do not end here. The other dat Saakashvili said the multi-billion external debt of the republic to foreign creditors was insignificant compared to that of Georgia's neighbours. "From this point of view we are in a better situation", - said the Georgian leader adding that currently the Georgian banking industry is healthy and stable, while Georgia is the first country of the world in terms of reforms, having very high indicators of economic growth.
The parallel reality in which the Georgian President seems to have stuck irritates the opposition more and more. The leader of the "Democratic Movement - United Georgia" party Nino Burdjanadze has already stated that one can make agreements only with adequate public officers, while it is contra-indicated to discuss anything with people who use dialogue just for deceit and trickery. "We believe that a mass and democratic protest of our people must force the current authorities to come to terms, to resign and to give a chance for the development of our state", she said. And she stressed that after 2008 every day of Mikhail Saakashvili's administration is a tragedy for Georgian people.
In hi turn, the head of the "Free Democrats" movement Irakliy Alasania reminded to the republic's people that the state budget of Georgia for this year contains about 500 million dollars for Mikhail Saakashvili's discretionary expenses. "This is inadmissible in a situation when 1,8 million people of the four millions of Georgian citizens are officially recognized as indigent, and the unemployment level is 55%", he added.
But the labourists went even further. Their General Secretary Soso Shatberashvili said that Mishiko had already bought a plot of land with a residence, some hotels, casinos and restaurants in Mexico, and it is there that he is going to escape with his huge Boing. "While the population of his country is starving and is practically in a deadlock, Saakashvili is spending millions of dollars on himself", stated the labourist.
