Vashadze confuses Russia with America2011-06-01 21:16
Georgian FM Grigol Vashadze obstinately accuses Russia of all mortal sins. As it turns out, Russia has given all resources and money to have the new legal status of Abkhazia and South Ossetia confirmed by Nicaragua, Nauru, Venezuela as well as other counties that followed Russia's example. Georgia's concern over the matter suggests that Russia is presently winning the media war. At the same time Georgia is absolutely indifferent that the US suzerain has always used these methods imposing democracy in strategically important regions.
"To resist recognition of the so-called independence of the occupied territories and keep Russia from disrupting their legal status are among our priorities. For the time being we cope with the task", - Vashadze said. According to him, official Moscow "promises the moon" to those who are morally ready to support "secessionists" and face financial difficulties. As a number of mass media assert, Russia has spent nearly USD 3.25 bn on recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Venezuela, for instance, has received USD 2.2 bn, Nicaragua - USD 1 bn, the Nauru - USD 50 mln. Naturally, Mr. Vashadze could not remain indifferent to this turn of events: these wild amounts are Georgia's annual budget. Yet the republic received nothing which was, apparently, the reason for wrath.
Vashadze said honestly that Georgia cuts short all Russia's attempts to build a hospital chain or a university campus to somebody. It seems the minister acts like a dog in the manger. One question: what does the small dependent country want to do to stop Russia from establishing peace and good-neighborly relations? There is no way stopping the recognition process, even if it is for free. The world community created a precedent releasing Kosovo autonomy and Metochia in violation of the UN Security Council resolution. Now, the self-proclaimed republic is de facto protected by the USA and EU.
Not mentioning appropriations-in-aid paid by the US administration in support of color revolutions in Eastern Europe. The States have spent nearly USD 110 mln on a series of coups d'etat. These figures were brought up in "Revolution.com. USA. Conquering East" documentary. Besides, it is not impossible that following the "velvet revolution" in Serbia, "rose revolution in Georgia", "orange revolution" in Ukraine and "tulip revolution in Kirgizia" the States will do the same in other post-Soviet republics like Moldavia or countries in Central Asia. Remarkably, in 1960s and 1970s CIA was secretly involved in creation of political party units and organizations. Then the White House took an extraordinary decision to make this activity public and transparent. As a result we saw a number of revolutions all over North Africa organized by a "domino principle".
Thus, it's little wonder that the Russian Federation starts to act in humanitarian environment of strategic regions - this is a normal practice worldwide. Suffice to remember European colonies in Africa and India that Belgium, France and the British Empire exhausted completely and then abandoned without help provoking civil wars in Rwanda and Congo. Russia decided to strengthen its authority in a humanitarian way and with the help of financial inflows in friendly economies - there is nothing to be ashamed of.
