McCain caught Moldavia by sovereignty2011-06-15 23:00
Senator John McCain continues carrying democracy to the Western European countries. Taking advantage of the unsteady political situation in Moldavia, the Republican decided to support its "territorial integrity" and suggested Russian peacemakers should quit Prodnestrovie. Such a flagrant declaration successfully coincided with the agreement between Kishinev and Tbilisi: they decided to develop their co-operation in the cross border trading area. McCain who was defeated by the Democrat Barak Obama at the presidential election in the USA persistently continues to play the role of a "grey eminence".
persistently continues to play the role of a "grey eminence".
While Moldavia suffers from the absence of any centralized power, Georgia decided to take the most of it. It is not a secret that the liberal democratic factions miss electoral support to get victory at the presidential election. And if communists come to power, America will not manage to draw the "European integration" wool over Kishinev's eyes. The agreement signed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caucasian republic and the head of its Frontier Police Zaza Gogava and the General Director of the Moldavian Frontier Police Roman Revenko consolidates mutual exchange of experience and information concerning the control of state borders, including by using the required technical and logistic means.
"The document will enable a wide range of events that will simplify the co-operation between the frontier police offices of Moldavia and Georgia in the areas of illegal cross border activity prevention, illegal migration prevention and human trafficking", noted Revenko.
The initiative is more than praiseworthy. However, it is interesting how both republic will deal with the frontiers of Pridnestrovie that are actually not controlled by the Moldavia authorities. The Pridnestrovie Republic considers itself a sovereign state and Russian peacemakers are located in its territory. It is notable that the Pridnestrovie Republic is the only region in the European territory where after the introduction of the peacemaking contingent any military actions were stopped and were not restored.
At the moment the unacknowledged state has been neglected by the UN countries, but the United States of America that fervently watch over their own interests in the region remember Tiraspol and draw up their precise strategy aimed at sowing democracy in the entire European territory. As long ago as last March the Vice President of the USA Joseph Biden stressed that Washington would not leave Moldavia until it reached the target goals. Evidently, the American administration is not embarrassed by the absence of a president in a country that reports cheerfully that Kishinev has taken the road of political changes. In its turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie stated that the approach declared by the Washington representative contradicts the general position of Kishinev and Tiraspol, as well as that of the mediators and guarantors. And it consists in the fact that the parties of the conflict themselves should define the final formula of the relations between Moldavia and Pridnestrovie.
It is clear that, while dividing the spheres of influence, America has stopped considering both the political facts and the state of international relations of the beginning of the 19th century, as well as the whole complex of historical, politico-military, ethnocultural and other pre-requisites of the Pridnestrovie Moldavian Republic formation. Washington prefers to ignore the free and democratic expression of will of the Pridnestrovian people, trying to combine the uncombinable.
