7 days ago in Kakheti, hail destroyed the property of the inhabitants of regions of Telavi and Gurjaani. Various organizations and rescue services are providing aid to the victims day and night. Some families were left homeless - only walls have remained. The state budget has not yet found a penny to help the victims, but the government is persistently feeding everyone with promises.

"Dampness is everywhere. For six days me and my 85-year-old slept on benches. I announced our position on the second day. They wrote down, but still no one has come, and brought nothing, and we had hoped. We have no electricity, water, gas, food, nothing to cook. Yesterday ate watermelon with bread", a resident of Telavi Darejan Shanyashvili said.

"We make a fire on the balcony to cook dinner. Yesterday I hardly got the bread. No one came to us. I've heard they were handing out some packages, maybe they will give us something, at least we sleep well. Our orchard is completely destroyed. There we had a little old house", a victim of disaster Nestan Gomelauri complains.

Packages, mentioned by Nestan Gomelauri, were promised by new prime minister of the country Merabishvili to all those affected. "We are going to distribute to each affected family a food package, which includes sunflower oil, sugar, flour". But in reality, very few people have managed to get this help.

According to the head of Telavi municipality (gamgebeli) Nugzar Khurtsidze, the people whose houses were damaged by the hurricane, they have already begun to get tarpaulins. And the Prime Minister Merabishvili said not everyone would get it immediately, today, tomorrow or the day after, and the public should treat this with understanding.

Watermelon garden of 3 hectares, owned by a resident of the village of Chandar, Gurjaani district, Zira Sepiashvili was completely destroyed because of the hail. 300 tons of watermelon are now rotting. To grow this crop, her family took a bank loan of 11 thousand GEL, having mortgaged the house and large plot of land.

"We had no time even to cut a watermelon. Harvest was ripening. In this garden I had a hut, where I lived in order to better look after the garden. The house has no roof any more, the house also exists no longer. I give damaged crops to neighbors who have pigs. Together with watermelon we grew melons, tomatoes and corn. Everything's destroyed. We have debts. What will happen to me, I cannot imagine! Nobody pays attention to us", Zira Sepiashvili says.

"Providing aid to the population is selective. They have seen me on TV meeting with Bidzina Ivanishvili, and they said they would not give me aid because I do not like Saakashvili", a resident of Gurjaani Tinian Kavelashvili says. "But the people know that Ivanishvili has transferred 80 million to help us".

The leader of the opposition coalition "Georgian Dream", a billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili has fully paid off a fine of 74.3 million lari (about $ 45.6 million) and the sum of the execution of $ 5.2 million lari (about $ 3.2 million). Oligarch expects that the money actually would get to the affected population. The government does not make any comments about it. Kakhetians really need, but still remain without compensations.

Vano Merabishvili said, "Affected land will be divided by category. We'll allocate 1300-1500 GEL to the 1st category, 800-900 GEL to the 2nd category, and 300-500 GEL to the 3rd category".
