Georgian authorities and the implacable opposition cannot find common ground in spite of certain steps made toward a dialogue. On May 17 EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby had a meeting with some opposition leaders though he is not entrusted with an official role of a mediator. On May 18 it was the turn of public members to speak to the opposition leaders.
