An exemplary farce?
Preliminary results of the local elections in Georgia have been revealed. The candidates named by the ruling National Movement party have taken the lead both of the Georgian capital and the regions of the republic. However, the opposition has already accused President of the country Mikhail Saakashvili of violating the electoral code and stealing the elections, while CEC continues receiving statements of various violations.

Pre-term local election in Georgia ended with the victory of the ruling party. Though the CEC is still busy calculating votes, exit polls carried out by most polling agencies reveal National United Movement’s absolute leadership. As president Mikheil Saakashvili announced – democracy has won in Georgia again. This time without falsification of results: inequality of the election campaign and skilled political technologists serving the winners were enough for the victory.
