Shakro the Young will grow old in Georgian prison
Thief in law Zakhari Kalashov known among thieves as Shakro the Young has got few chances to avoid extradition to Georgia. Spanish government has already taken a decision on sending him back to his native country. The final word is left with the Plenum of Spanish National Court Chamber, which is to hold a session today. In Georgia, Kalashov is accused of organizing drug traffic from South-African countries to Europe and is sentenced in absence to 18 years of imprisonment. However, Georgian authorities’ activity on Shakro the Young’s return has got a political background.
Ugulava to take money from children
Georgian kindergartens will be paid for since next year. The decision was already confirmed to oppositional deputy Tinatin Khidasheli at the Mayor’s office. Authorities have never brought the country to such shame even in the hungry 90s. Perhaps, the decision is attributed to money saving. Tbilisi’s budget in 2011 will be reduced by 123 million laris. In this connection, public travel fares and water rate have been increased. Now, the thrifty Mayor Gigi Ugulava is going to take the missing laris from children.

Tbilisi keeps WTOing
Tbilisi has run out of ideas what else to do to win Russia’s attention and earn a dialogue. The fact of discussions, not the topic, matters. Attempts of Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili to have a meeting with Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev at the OSCE summit in Astana were a crushing failure. WTO issues won’t be so easily dropped, Georgian officials decided and made a new statement highlighting they were ready to hear Russia’s stand and are waiting for an answer from abroad with their ears all up.
