Georgian Napoleon obsessed by United Caucasus
Yesterday Tbilisi hosted a meeting of Mikheil Saakashvili with the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Akhmed Davutoglu. The Georgian leader decided to make hay while the sun shines. After the parties had discussed their co-operation in the area of security and economy, Mikheil Nikolaevich confessed to Head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that he had a dream of his life: United Caucasus. And these ambitions are supposedly supported by Armenia and Azerbaijan. Saakashvili is sure that even the conflicts existing in the region will not prevent them to realize such an alluring idea. Trust Mishiko: he always shifts concepts, passing the facilitation of a visa system between the countries for the creation of a mythical alliance.
Tbilisi to change politics for PR
Everuthing that the current Georgian regime pursues is described in two Latin letters – PR. Over the years in office, Tbilisi politicians have become masters of self-promotion. Probably it makes sense to write a motto on the country’s emblem: Result is nothing, image is everything! For domestic PR-campaigns Georgian rulers have enough charisma, while in the West they have to resort to professionals. It has been rumored for a long time that in the international arena Tbilisi employs foreign lobbyists. Now this information is officially confirmed by vice speaker of Georgian parliament Mikheil Machavariani.
Georgia to document “external enemy”
Georgia suddenly started thinking of its own security. Today, Security Council of the republic together with the parliament starts working on a new framework directly naming Sakartvelo’s main “external enemy”. There is no necessity to remind whom Tbilisi accuses of the “occupation” and other fantastic sins. Another point is that the government is going to involve the country’s opposition in the discussion of the questionable document. Ideas of the republic’s government hiding behind safety concern were discussed by GeorgiaTimes correspondent and Georgian parliamentarian Petre Mamradze.2011-02-16 20:58
Saakashvili playing with Circassian fire
Militating against 2014 Sochi Olympics Mikheil Saakashvili is ready to use all his tricks. For this purpose he is actively bringing up the “Circassian issue”. Mishiko seems to be unaware what kind of fire he is playing with though he has a loyal advisor – president of the United States. As a Georgian opposition asserts, at the last meeting between Georgian president and US leader Barack Obama the latter told him directly to leave Circassians alone with their past and their future.
