Still, judging by the story with the Israeli businessman, this fight is more like liquidation of competitors with the help of false accusations. The arrest of Fuks and Frenkel, two entrepreneurs, is gradually turning into a Dreyfus Case. The story has already caused aggravation in Tbilisi-Tel-Aviv relations forcing the Labor Party to accuse Saakashvili of anti-Semitism, realizing that the lawsuit brings shame on the country. Now the National Council is ready to bail the arrested businessmen out.
McCain and Saakashvili: brothers in arms
A notorious supporter of Mikhail Saakashvili’s regime in the U.S. Senate John McCain again mentioned the necessity of the American weapon supply to the Georgian army. In McCain’s opinion, Washington simply has to “defend” the small brave republic against Russia’s “aggression”. Gal district to break language barrier
Georgia becomes concerned over a possibility that Georgians will start speaking the Abkhaz language. Mass media angrily react to the news on Abkhaz TV that the Public Chamber of Abkhazia will hold a visiting session in Gal district of the republic to discuss problems of Abkhaz and Russian language learning. Most residents of the district speak Georgian and their Abkhaz and Russian language competence is poor.
