Photographers have their tongues loosened

The trial is scheduled for autumn but the attorneys highlight – a verdict can’t be based on evidence only. That means the Georgian ministry of interior will have to produce proofs to the society.

Untouchables appearing in Georgia
Not so long ago, Georgian parliament adopted certain amendments to the Criminal Code of the country which actually turn the officials of the power-wielding structures, public officers and their family members into a special cast of the untouchables. From now on, an attempt upon the life of a policeman can lead to a much longer imprisonment than an attempt of attacking a common citizen. This decision of the people’s deputies has already caused much criticism on the part of the local law-enforcement organizations and representatives of the opposition.
