Things are calm in Tskhinval
Saakashvili may refer to Edward Kokoyty’s regime in Tskhinval as “illegal” or “self-proclaimed” but even his most zombified supporters admit that the South Ossetian leader surpasses his colleague from Tbilisi in terms of political culture. Notorious behavior that Dzambolat Tedeev, a frustrated presidential candidate of South Ossetia, demonstrated in the central election committee in Tskhinval, would take him to jail in “democratic” Georgia. Yet, in South Ossetia the troublemaker is protected by special police units against people shocked at the rampage.

Slippery path of Eastern Partnership
The European project Eastern Partnership, designed to estrange post-Soviet republics from Russia, begins to bulge at the seams. Although the format of the meetings of CIS countries is hardly perfect, the results of interaction within the Community are more effective than diplomatic tales from the European Union. And the Warsaw Summit became a direct proof of this. Minsk clings to Moscow again, Tbilisi is still far from the EU membership and the scandal with Yulia Tymoshenko put the brand of disgrace on Kiev.
