Georgian resort of Kobuleti is impatiently waiting for this August in the hope of increasing the number of holidaymakers. Last year, the holiday season failed. The owners of private hotels are not able to settle their debts to the banks, and according to the law, they may face a sale of the property. Loan terms of about 300 families were extended. But, apparently, this year the season won't justify expectations. The Bank has already confiscated several houses of defaulters.
Will Russia save Syrian Ossetians?
Among the ethnic minorities of Syria, there is one special group - Syrian Ossetians. They are the descendants of the emigrants who left South Ossetia during the Caucasian war. For a century and a half many Ossetians have intermarried with Arab families, but they remain "dear guests" for Syria. The civil war in Syria made them outcasts. The question of their existence now is very urgent: either flee, or die. Syrian alans are looking for help on their historical native land, in Russia.
