2009-04-15 12:43

3/8/5/2385.jpegAfter the start of the open-ended protest action the Georgian opposition has made scenarios of the events extremely diversified. Yesterday a rabbit wearing a red tie was let in Mikheil Saakashvili's residence in Avlabari. Today oppositionists plan to attach hundreds of ties and take cages out to the streets. Toward the evening the headquarters of the protestors will announce the plans for tomorrow.

Zviad Dzidziguri of the Conservative Party proclaimed president Mikheil Saakashvili a persona non grata promising to picket him everywhere he goes. At night the president was in his Avlabari residence that is why the opposition took their tents there. However the media reported that Tbilisi Mayor's Office considered picketing of the Georgian president's residence illegal. But as it was specified in the Conservative Party press service to GeorgiaTimes the opposition is permitted to hold the action till April 16. The zone in front of the president's residence was also mentioned in the notice sent to the city authorities before April 9. "They call everything illegal but can they oppose thousands of people calling for president's resignation?", - the press

service remarked.

Until now the Mayor's Office took mo measures to disperse amateur talent groups beneath the president's windows. All the more "the actors" look quite decisive. "We are ready to defend ourselves by all legal means, stones and sticks, but we won't give in", - Kakha Kukava, a Conservative is quoted in VZGLYAD. According to him the opposition has informers in the Interior Ministry and will know when the decision on the action crackdown will be taken.

For now unknown provokers venture minor tricks against oppositionists. The night before around 20 people attacked the activists passing their nighttime in front of the parliament with the knives. Two April 9 Movement representatives of the opposition Georgy Oniani and Mamuka Girgvliani were injured. According to Georgian media the Interior Ministry started to investigate the incident. The victims say they don't know who the attackers were.

The night in front of Saakashvili's residence was calm. "We are really satisfied with the first night. However the people did not have enough sleep because of poor conditions. I believe, we'll need a few more days and nights to bring our opinion home to Saakashvili", - People's Party leader Koba Davitashvili shared his impressions.

The residence keeps being blocked. At 5 pm the oppositionists are going to hang ties on the fence - they were much favored by Georgia's president during the August conflict with South Ossetia. According to future participants of the actions they will make wishes at the time of the symbolic action.
