Georgia requested swine flu vaccine from WHO
2009-11-02 15:07Georgia requested World Health Organisation to allocate swine flu vaccine.
According to Paata Imnadze, the head of the National Center for Disease Control , for the first stage 50 - 100 000 dozes would be enough.
It will be delivered to Georgia when WHO will accept the use of any of the developed vaccines [developed China, the USA, and a number of other countries].
Paata Imnadze states the situation in Georgia is still under control, and there's no reason for panic. Even in case the disease spread, the stock of tamiflu [used for complicated cases] amounts 130 000 dozes - quite enough for treatment of severe cases.
He added that preventive measures had been taken since summer when WHO declared the threat of swine flu epidemic.
