Georgian stars to light up in Moscow2009-12-25 15:01
Anna Gibradze, 15, is the winner of Children's New Wave 2009 international contest held in Moscow on the New Year's Eve.
A young Georgian girl, 15 hit the competent board of jury with her interpretation of the world's famous Georgian song Suliko. This song has long been Georgia's trademark. Time, borders or politics could do nothing with this eternal melody. Igor Krutoy, Sergey Lazarev, Timati, Yulia Nachalova and other celebrated musicians of the board assessed the Georgian singer with the highest mark.
Young Anna is blooming with joy. Next year she is expected to perform on Adult New Wave together with her idols.
This is not the young Georgian singer's first victory at an international contest. In 2006 she impressed Slavic Bazaar. Last year she won the grand prix at Young Galichina-2008 in Ukraine.
Elza Rauzhina, the young singer's producer, hopes that after this triumphant victory Anna will have new offers to perform in Russia. "Georgian singers are cordially received here", - Rauzhina notes.
Anna's whole family came to support her. Maya, her aunt, says they will be glad to be invited to cooperate in Russia. Anna enjoys learning Russian.
Anna Gibradze's family thanked the Union of Georgians in Russia for the support: presently it's a great problem to come to Moscow from Tbilisi.
Mikhail Khubutia, president of the Union of Georgians in Russia congratulated his young compatriot with the victory wishing her success and new impressive achievements.
"Georgia is a country of great soul, a country that lives by songs. People of this country have enormous creative potential. Just remember how many singers, actors and film directors came from Georgia. There are many gifted children here. They need help and support. The Union is always ready to help young compatriots. When they perform Tbiliso or Suliko they can openly be called Georgia's agents in Russia. This is people's diplomacy since art has no boundaries".
It's pleasant to note that the heat of hostile rhetoric in Tbilisi has subsided lately. In part due to the projects organized by people's diplomacy advocates such as the Union of Georgians in Russia. This is a noble activity aimed at reinforcement of ties between two countries and favored by general public in Georgia.
