The President touched upon 5 topics, discussed the perspectives of Russia under crisis and reformation of the world's financial system, improvement of people's lives, reformation of the Military Forces and major international problems including the conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia.
The head of expert department of administration for foreign policy of the government of South Ossetia Alan Bagiev commented on the address of Dmitry Medvedev for GeorgiaTimes. According to him, the President's Message is a sharp strategic indication of how state organs must draw up their activities. A demand of the Leader of the Russian Federation for struggle against corruption, a decisive intention to maintain economic stability against the growing crisis must be taken with extreme seriousness.
"The issues concerning South Ossetia, its support by Russia in the republic's aspiration to create its institutions are indispensible for an independent state, - all this cannot leave us indifferent. As one nation we took the address of the president speaking of South Ossetia with great enthusiasm. Considering that Russia's behavior is correct in the context of compliance with the international law, its actions are fully regulated, - Alan Bagiev thinks.
By the way the President began his Message with the Caucasus topic: "The conflict in the Caucasus was used as a pretext to enter NATO military ships to the Black Sea and for accelerated enforcement of American anti-missile systems in Europe that will surely result in Russia's retaliation" - the Leader of the State said.
"Let's be honest - the Tskhinval tragedy became inter alia a consequence of self-assured line of American administration intolerant of criticism and preferring unilateral solutions", - emphasized Dmitry Medvedev. And further on: "We will not retreat in the Caucasus". Alongside with that the President expressed a hope that the USA new administration will make a choice in favor of sound relationships with Russia.
