South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on some media not to heat up the situation and stop provoking media space with false statements made by officials of this Transcaucasian republic. The Foreign Ministry refutes information that President Erward Kokoyty urges to use force against Israel that attacked Freedom Flotilla. Who needs this kind of fake?
Recently the world's media space was stirred up by the news on Israeli navy ship massacring international Freedom Flotilla carrying humanitarian aid that resulted in nearly 20 deaths.
Without studying the details of the incident it is fair to say the event has caused a wide public reaction all over the world. Some media "quoted" a statement made by South Ossetian president who allegedly refers to the intercept of the ship by Israelis as "provocative actions" against the humanitarian mission going to Gaza.
"These actions cause great resentment of the people of South Ossetia who had felt all hardships of the blockade imposed by revanchist Georgia", - Kokoyty was quoted in a number of media. - The republic considers massacre of civilians by Israeli armed groups as genocide and calls international community to condemn Israel's aggressive actions and use force against this state".
It was also reported that people of South Ossetia are ready to provide all kinds of assistance to the victims and submit peacekeepers to the Gaza Strip in case of conflict escalation.
South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was quick to react to Kokoyty's "words". According to the republic's diplomats an Israeli radio station contacted South Ossetia's embassy to Moscow expressing doubts over authenticity of the information disseminated in media.
It was highlighted in Tskhinval that the president's statement rotating in media is a fake containing a number of gross grammatical mistakes which eloquently shows the republican authorities' non-involvement in this.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers this act as a rude low-rate provocation aimed at discrediting South Ossetian leadership and misinforming world community in an attempt to involve the republic in a maze of the world's most intricate conflicts". - the official statement is presented by RES news agency. Representatives of South Ossetia also point to a remarkable fact. As it turns out the fake was first posted on a pro-Georgian site.
