Georgia taking up Zimbabwe’s path2010-10-29 17:01
Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri suggested that the Chinese should buy out the state debt of his republics. Such inappropriate ideas came to the Georgian PM's head right after his meeting with Vice Prime Minister of the P.R.C. State Council Chzhan Detszyan in Beijing. China has already demonstrated its belief in Greece's capability to overcome the financial crisis and offered its shoulder. Besides, this country is a large purchaser of other EU countries' government stock, such as Spain's. So, Mr. Gilauri, why not surrounding yourself with a light veil of a dream?
Georgian authorities seem to define the vector of policy of the foreign investments attraction - that's the Asia-Pacific region, or, rather, one of its leaders - People's Republic of China. Nika Gilauri is staying there on a long visit, building trade connections and getting acquainted with the nuances of Chinese "economic industry". Besides, Georgia has long been going to fraternize with China and it is only now that Georgian authorities managed to get so close to The Heavenly Empire.
Diplomatic relationship was established between P.R.C. and Sakartvelo in 1992 when the Caucasian republic grew independent of the USSR. According to the Georgian statistics service, the trade structure between the two states has improved in recent years and China became the fifth-large trade partner of the country. Nevertheless, even the Georgian government realized that making such a delicate request as the state debt purchase in such a straight-forward manner should make one feel awkward.
China decided to conquer Georgia from the backyard. This April, Georgia suggested that the Heavenly Empire should set up a competition called Chinese Language Bridge in connection with the increase of those wanting to learn hieroglyphs. Indeed, not everyone wants to learn English - there are plenty more languages in the world. However, it is not yet clear whether the P.R.C. dissenters will be involved in learning Chinese. It looks like those present in the territory of Sakartvelo are quite enough for diverting the unsteady minds of the Georgian youth.
Afterwards, Georgia made another innocent request on refurnishing the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance. China allocated a 3-million-dollar grant for the complicated transference of the currency assets to the officers' pockets under the guidance of facilitating the procedure of customs control in China - that's not a huge sum of money but each tetri is important for the Georgian state budget.
