American bacteria threatening Georgian students2010-12-07 13:23
Georgian authorities are no longer hiding the fact that they are working on the "colonizing" of their own country. The state that is known to the whole world due to its unique culture is rapidly turning into one of the numerous typical American states. A special role in the process of forced Americanization is given to the field of education.
By the way, Georgia is a unique example of a "colony". Generally, when conquering some territory, the conqueror replaces the local government by an obedient one. The current regime of the republic gladly tries on the role of a "servant", sometimes against the "master's" will. Head of the Georgian Ministry of Education Dmitri Shashkin was appointed responsible for making the people feel loyal defenders of the Stars and Stripes since early childhood.
Former Minister for Execution of Sentences, Probation and Legal Assistance in his current office often behaves as if he was in charge of outright criminals instead of children. Let's take, for instance, his response to a meeting held in Rustaveli Avenue by the schoolchildren discontented with the introduced additional exams. Shashkin's appraisal of the teenagers' protests was exceedingly harsh: he accused them of laziness, stupidity and unwillingness to study. Poor children were even blamed for the connection with the opposition and betrayal of their motherland's interests. Sometimes, there was a feeling that the minister was going to put each pupil who ventured to open his mouth against the Georgian authorities' genial innovations to a punishment cell. That is the way he usually dealt with the insubordinate while in previous office.
Not so long ago, Shashkin held a meeting with Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Chemical and Biological Defense Programs Andrew Weber. The point at issue was the organization of cooperation between the Central Reference Laboratory built in Georgia with the American authorities' financial participation and local universities. Reference laboratories are the organizations studying various infectious diseases, as well as storing the races of various microorganisms. Depending on the level of the laboratory, it may produce bacteriological weapon as well. It is reported that in future, Georgian reference laboratory (the only one in the Transcaucasia) will set up close connection with various educational institutions. Students from local universities will take their training course there. It is not however reported in which status: scientists or test objects.
