False Panfilov is smarter than the real one2011-02-22 21:36
Twitter has published a false microblog of a famous Georgian propagandist Oleg Panfilov. It immediately attracted attention, for the first post touched upon the hidden purpose of the journalist's stay in Georgia. A message addressed to President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev went as follows: "Dear Dmitry Anatolyevitch! I've got settled. Georgian half-wits trust me fully. They are so funny. Awaiting further orders". Panfilov has already refuted his involvement in this blog and accused Russian special services of having set it up.
In fact, this is a common every-day story of the Georgian propaganda. The war of the Georgian blogosphere with the Russian special services resembles fighting windmills. The imaginary enemy is resisted by a whole team of volunteer propagandists who come down with a flow of spam on everyone who mentions the word "Georgia" in his blog.
We do not know whether Russian special services have got their team in the Network but we can surely state that the Georgian special services don't have to look for any volunteers of the ideological battle in the Internet. Georgian bloggers are ready to complete any specified task free of charge at the highest-quality level.
Oleg Panfilov is no white crow in their unanimous team. He is the most righteous blogger whose entire activity in the Network is performed in the context of the Georgian legislation and for the benefit of the country that sheltered him. "Remember that 20 percent of the Georgian territory is occupied", - these are the introductory words of his real page. According to the new law, this phrase must be mentioned everywhere - in restaurant menus, on advertising panels, on new building faces, at the entrance to the country. It is hard for the government to make all the people follow this rule and it looks like Panfilov became the first man to comply with this strange letter of the law.
It is no coincidence that he appeared in Georgia and became a true a patriot of this country, having distanced all the rest of the patriots. He found an ideal place for the final of his career where hatred of Russia is paid for at the highest rate. The nature of "Panfilov's phenomenon" is very simple: most of all he hates the Soviet Union and considers Russia to be not only its legal but also cultural successor. However, Georgian employers are not the least interested in the blogger's attitude to a state that sank into oblivion but they are ready to pay him well for the anti-Russian propaganda.
