THANK YOU, OUR VICTORIOUS GRANDFATHERS!2011-05-10 21:02
Ukrainian ambassador to Georgia Vasily Tsybenko has congratulated Georgian veterans on the coming Victory Day. His message was published in the same newspaper where the Russian president's congratulations were called pure cynicism and humility. What else is there say? Georgia's clumsy propaganda occasionally demonstrates things bitterly condemned by the world community. It seems these journalists have no esteem for the concepts that normal people know since childhood. Besides, Dmitry Medvedev's warm words were not referred to you, small Varlams, but to those who saved mankind from the fascist plague.
Varlams, but to those who saved mankind from the fascist plague.
Fascinating study of cynicism and humility of Georgian mass media continues. It will be remembered that a few days ago one propaganda newspaper that had been repeatedly caught on lies, slander and falsifications, was thundering over Russian president Dmitry Medvedev's address to Georgian veterans. Not having asked official Tbilisi's permission, the Russian leader dared congratulate Georgian veterans who took part in the Great Patriotic War and won. Medvedev's hearty words that Russia hopes to live in peace and good-neighborhood with Georgia were labeled as demonstration of cynicism and humility. A real nightmare: Moscow wants to drag Sakartvelo back to the Soviet Union!
A short while later the above mentioned newspaper published the Ukrainian ambassador's congratulation to Georgian veterans. Yet, unlike the words of the Russian president, it was not criticized by the scribblers. Why? If the memory of Victory that was torn from the enemy in a united effort of Soviet citizens is devaluated, it should be done consistently and thoroughly. Sovok is Sovok no matter who tells about it - Russia or Ukraine. Yet, the biased newspaper publishes Kiev's congratulations without comments.
"May 9, 1945 - this date gets still more farther off from us. Yet, we continue to remember the price paid for this great Victory by our defenders and heroes. We worship those who did this long way of battle and then restored the devastated native land. There are no words to fully express gratitude to your immortal exploit in this merciless war, dear veterans", - the congratulation of Ukrainian ambassador to Georgia Vasily Tsibenko runs.
