Saakashvili fond of tusky women and other people’s money2011-05-16 14:00
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili again made an unexpected scene. This time, leader of Sakartvelo went before his people as a zoologist. In a conversation with businessmen, the president contemplated on comparative characteristics of a dolphin's and Veronica Kobalia's teeth. Mishiko came to a conclusion that the minister of economy has got bigger tusks than the friendly animal. However, such "advantage" will hardly do good to the people: Georgia remains a very poor country.
Today, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has had a fit of unparalleled honesty. While making a speech at the Merkury-2011 business awarding ceremony, he admitted unexpectedly that Georgia is an utterly poor and backward country. The president's statement sounded a real sensation after his constant assurances that Sakartvelo is a regional leader striding fast along the way of democratic and economic development. Has Mishiko been hocused? What kind of truth potion has he drunk?
"In fact, we've much fallen behind reality; there are a lot of spheres to raise and to pull off and we are a very poor country so far", - the president stated openly to a number of businessmen who gathered at the awarding ceremony. The point is that Saakashvili's timing for telling complete truth is also ill. Just think of it: wealthy people have gathered on a pleasant occasion and it would be better to reveal possible prospects to them and set their mind in favour of investments. But instead, the president threw cold water on them.
However, the moment of enlightenment was brief. Saakashvili quickly got on his hobbyhorse and started dwelling on the need of copying the Singapore model by Georgian economy, notably, of using its geographic position to one-hundred-percent advantage, as Singapore does it.
It is absolutely unclear what was behind Mishiko's mournful invocations. So far, Georgia uses its geographic position only to disadvantage, acquiring the reputation of the major regional hell-raiser. However, there is nothing to be surprised at: even if Sakartvelo's current government arrived in Sahara, problems with sand would start there in half a year of the "democratic development" and "wretched occupants" would immediately appear.
Despite the poor and backward Georgia's deplorable position, Saakashvili found a way to praise Minister of Economy and Sustained Development Veronica Kobalia. The treasury is empty but a real Caucasian can always find something to admire in a beautiful woman!
