New Georgian ambassador to the USA started work

Batu Kutelia, appointed the ambassador of Georgia to the USA, today starts his work in his new position.

On Thursday morning he departed to Washington, Day.Az informs.

According to the diplomat, the priorities of his work are the issues to be reflected in the strategic partnership treaty between Georgia and the USA to be signed on January 9^th .

Among them: security, intensification of partnership in defense sphere and economy, closer relations of Georgian and American peoples.

Let us remind that Batu Kutelia, the ex-Deputy Defense Minister, was appointed Georgian ambassador to the USA on December 16^th 2008.

In this position he is the successor of David Sikharulidze, who was appointed the Minister of Defense.
