Iliya II to teach children to think2011-05-18 14:24
Patriarch Iliya II is preparing a real ideological subversion in Sakartvelo schools. He wants to teach children to think! The head of the Georgian Church has come out with an initiative to introduce lessons of analytical thinking for schoolchildren. The patriarch believes that these lessons must be taught from the first to twelfth class and include both theory and practice. The government will hardly support his initiative: one cannot imagine what will happen if the kids really start thinking and analyzing.
Absence of thought is one of the main problems in today's Georgia. One has to admit that the country's authorities have spent many efforts on curing the people from using their brains. The flow of stupefying information is pouring lavishly from TV screens and pages of the pro-government newspapers. The media are playing to the authorities which year by year keep performing a musical act called "Everything in the garden is lovely" before the people.
The saddest thing is that the persistent bringing up of idiots yields its fruit; otherwise, the current rulers would have long since run away from the people's wrath and, at best, would have found themselves on the plank-beds in the Georgian prisons that are the most wonderful in the world, fully experiencing local amenities: tuberculosis, absence of medical help and jailers' beating.
The Church, which is supposed to be above any political squabbles, has ultimately shown concern about the fact that the parish is getting more and more stupid with years and decided to protect those on whom Georgia is putting its hopes - kids, today's schoolchildren, whose brains have not yet been rotten completely by the official propaganda. There is still time to teach them to think. Patriarch Iliya II during the Sunday sermon in the St. Trinity Cathedral said that it's time to introduce a course of analytical thinking in the schools of Sakartvelo.
"Alongside with Chemistry, Native Language, Physics and Arithmetic, there must be a course of analytical thinking at schools. After finishing school, these will be well-educated and deeply-thinking people. We've started working on that and it's not so easy. We must use logic, psychology, anthropology, philosophy and so one", - Iliya II stated.
