Court of Strasbourg considered seven claims of South Ossetians against Georgia

The European Court of Human Rights considered seven claims concerning actions of Georgia during the conflict in South Ossetia in early August 2008, RIA Novosti informs.

According to the press release, issued today, the cases are predominantly connected with violations of their and their relatives' rights for life; appeals against brutal and humiliating treatment, violation of the right for private and family life, damaging and destruction of property, absence of effective aid, racial discrimination.

The European Court decided to grant these cases priority and contact the government of Georgia.

About 3300 similar cases, had been sent to the court since August 2008, are now being in the European Court.
