Budget cracks with Saakashvili’s love2011-11-16 12:32
Mikheil Saakashvili's love adventures are known to all Georgia. His mistresses head ministries and turn up on TV. Well, the leader of Sakartvelo has a good taste. It's a pity that this love is paid for by the state.
"If I were a sultan I would have three wives..." Mikheil Saakashvili is not a sultan, but just a modest president of a small but terribly democratic republic. Yet, he can boast of having much more love mates. The new name in the list presented by Georgia and World social and political weekly is Ivanna Melay, a blonde singer whose courtship costs GEL 500 thousand per year from the budget that Saakashvili often mixes up with his personal wallet.
Saakashvili has a mania of dragging beautiful women from all over the world to Georgia. He brought Veronica Kobalia from Canada taking the poor girl out of the baker's shop and placing her on the "throne" of the economy ministry. She is still there to please male part of the population and being a sheer disappointment for sound-minded experts. As for Ivanna, Mishiko lured her from Ukraine. It's been a year since the grey-eyed blonde has lived in Sakartvelo like a queen thanks to the president's mercy.
For the first time Ivanna and Mishiko met in Svanetia at the opening ceremony of renovated Mestia. The Georgian president was charmed with the lady's singing and dancing. A short while after, Ivanna quit her author's program on Ukrainian TV, said good-bye to her music career and moved to live in Georgia. Friendship with Saakashvili opened wide horizons to her: a USD 500 mln contract with First Caucasian TV company (paid from Georgia's state budget), a solo concert in Pyats of Batumi, open doors of Sheraton and Radisson hotels in Batumi. Certainly, she is serviced for free there - no one would dare to take money from Misha's girlfriend (Ivanna's status in Georgia's beau monde).
One would think it normal for an adult man to patronize a young woman. It has always been like that. Yet, there are two aspects. Firstly, Saakashvili (excuse us) is married, and the head of the Orthodox state, more than ordinary citizens, must be ashamed of showing interest in a good-looking woman. Even if their relationships were pure and innocent, and the president's love was platonic. Yet, let Sandra think about that aspect.
