Georgia - the country of the absurd: ruined economy against the background of the maniacal project of the president, the terrible unemployment side by side with constant appeals to his compatriots to return from abroad ... The state is building new hospitals - but they remain inaccessible luxury for ordinary citizens.
In 2011, which ends in three weeks, in Georgia there should appear 30 new hospitals. This was reported by spokesperson of Georgian President Manana Manjgaladze. In addition, coming January and February 2012 will be "loaded" in terms of new health facilities. In general, the government has "Napoleonic plans": during this and next year there should be opened at least a hundred hospitals.
"As for the promises of the authorities in connection with the construction of 100 new hospitals, then it is being implemented, and in 2011-2012, new and modern medical facilities will enter into operation across the country", said the spokesman of Mikhail Saakashvili. As usual, we should write off inflated figures due to the traditional traction of the official Tbilisi to exaggeration. It would seem that there's nothing to cavil: everything seems good. But it turns out that in fact, this "project", as well as many others ideas of Mikhail Saakashvili, has not much to do with the ordinary citizens, though, it seems, it was designed for them.
The fact is that at current prices for medical services ordinary people of Georgia cannot afford to engage in their health and go to the hospitals. It creates quite an absurd situation: new hospitals and clinics open, but the health situation in the country is becoming worse.
"In general, hospitals with modern standards - it is very good, but people cannot use services of these hospitals, because they are very expensive. I'm not indigent man, but I find it difficult to finance my medical care. Can you imagine the situation of needy people? In general, the world's health care is expensive, but in the West there is an effective insurance system for citizens. But we are dealing with an absurd political insurance, which is used more for the pre-election campaign than for addressing the problem with the health of the population", the expert Gia Khukhashvili denounced the stupidity of the authorities.
