The Georgian president finally turned his gaze from glass buildings of police departments and crystal bridges to people. Gloomy faces he saw shocked him.

"Why aren't they smiling?" - Mikheil Saakashvili thought. - Ah, they are simply ashamed of their teeth!" And the quick-witted president promised to take care of old people's teeth by paying for dental service as part of the new program "Smiling Georgia".

Georgia has different faces. It may sparkle with lights and fountains, or it can be elderly and nationally colorful. Photos of travelers trying to get a glimpse of the second, now vanishing image of the country show many elderly people in mountainous villages. All these portraits have one common feature: people either have no teeth at all, or have remains of what used to be called teeth. Provided they smile - of course.

The Georgian nation has no right to be sad with such a lively and funny president as Mikheil Saakashvili. If holes between teeth make it uneasy to smile - the president will pay for dental care. If that does not help, the services of plastic surgeons will be needed, and they will make Georgian people laugh the way it is described in Hugo's laughing man.

In any case, Saakashvili has a serious intention to implement the Smiling Georgia program, as he stated on his birthday that he celebrated in a canteen for the poor in Batumi. Most probably, the smiling statesman didn't like toothless mouths of people around him. Yet, this sight pushed Saakashvili to launch the program of dental care for elderly people. With uneducated and humble folk around him in the poor-house, the admirer of Pushkin and Tolstoy did not moderate his language. "Teeth are not only a beautiful smile. When a man has no teeth, his health goes to hell", - the president stated.

Yet, does it matter in what way he spoke when such a noble goal is in front of him. "No matter how much it will cost to us, everyone who needs it will be provided with good teeth. Starting next month, we will go to all villages and all districts. So that nobody was ashamed of opening one's mouth only because he has no money", - the president said.
