Next meeting of NATO-Georgia Commission to be held on February 19th – 20th
2009-02-06 10:18NATO-Georgia Commission meeting to consider the annual national program, will be held in Krakow on February 19th -20th said, NATO's spokesman James Appaturai - GHN.
Following the decision made in Brussels, the meeting of the NATO member countries Ministers of Defense in Krakow will be informal. Another decision made in Brussels by the NATO member countries Foreign Ministers implies working out the annual national program for Georgia. This program is aimed to "lead and support" Georgia in its way of meeting the alliance standards.
The delegation of Georgia (Grigol Vashadze, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Davit Sikhrulidze, the Minister of Defense, and Giorgi Baramidze, the State Minister for European and Atlantic Integration) stayed in Brussels on February 4th and conducted meetings with NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and ambassadors of the 26 member countries of the alliance.
The situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia was discussed at the meetings.
