Eduard Shevarnadze claimed he doesn’t cooperate with Alasania and Burjanadze

Eduard Shevarnadze, the ex-President of Georgia, refuted messages of his consultations with Irakli Alasania and Nino Burjanadze - ITAR TASS.

According to today's statement of Shevarnadze "in recent times a number of mass media and some politicians have stated that I conduct meetings with Alasania, who joined opposition, and Burjanadze, and coordinate opposition's actions against authorities. Such speculations are absurd ".

"I am a pensioner politician, I do not interfere in the political life of the country and meet neither authorities nor opposition members ", Shevarnadze said.

He underlined that "does not intend to return in politics in any form".

The 81-year old ex-President said that he had been busy writing memoirs. The book has already been published in Georgian language in Tbilisi, in German - in Germany, in Azerbaijanian - in Baku. "At the present moment work on publishing my memoirs in Russian is coming to end, the book will expectedly be released in Moscow in May", he said.

Shevarnadze mentioned that interest to his book appeared in Iran and China - in Persian and Chinese languages respectively. The ex-President said that he is busy with the issues of publishing his memoirs, writing various articles and giving interviews to various editions.
