"Hope" returned to Georgian television2012-10-19 15:14
After the victory of the opposition coalition of Bidzina Ivanishvili in the parliamentary election the dreams of many in Georgia started come true. Hope has also returned to the family Patarkatsishvili. Recently it became known that the TV Company "Imedi" has returned to relatives of the founder of the company. According to their statement, the family Patarkatsishvili has already agreed with the current owner of the TV Company on this matter.
"First of all I want to congratulate Georgia with democratic election. At the same time I congratulate everyone with the return of the "Imedi". Prior to the meeting with the staff I want to say that everything will change, including human resource policy, and everything will take their seats". This statement was made by Mzia Patarkatsishvili, sister of the lawful owner of the channel, the late Badri Patarkatsishvili.
"We came here not for revenge, but for balance and objectivity. If someone thinks he should not remain in the "Imedi", he better leaves before we ask him about it", added another sister of the businessman.
Some have already responded to this call. One of the first who has left the channel was a popular Georgian TV host Nanuka Zhorzholiani, the authors of "Nanuka's Show". "This is nothing more than a moral obligation. Simple human decision", she wrote on her page on Facebook.
What did she mean by "a moral obligation"? The fact is that Nanuka Zhorzholiani is wife of Erekle Kodua, associate of Mikheil Saakashvili. Despite the fact that the recently he went over to the "Georgian Dream", Kodua still retains a reputation of Saakashvili's man. Immediately after the election a barrage of indignation fell upon him. He is accused of embezzling gas stations of the businessman Kalandadze, as well as of receiving property at $ 1.5 million for a guarantee of immunity from kingpin Shakro Kalashov.
But the people say the main reason for leaving of his wife from the television is the fact that Kodua was involved in the murder of Badri Patarkatsishvili. But it is unknown so far whether this is true. But the fact is that Nanuka Zhorzholiani has left the "Imedi" immediately after the transfer of the TV Company to the family Patarkatsishvili.
TV Company "Imedi", founded by Badri Patarkatsishvili in 2002, has been named this way not accidently. "Imedi" in Russian means "Hope." And from that moment the Georgian people have hope for an alternative, truthful information and improvement of the quality of life.
