Saakashvili wants to kill Ivanishvili?2013-02-13 18:27
The people close to Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili are discussing plan of elimination of the Prime Minister of Bidzina Ivanishvili. Such scandalous news was announced by the former Minister of State Security of the Republic Irakli Batiashvili. According to him, the attempt must take place before the presidential election scheduled for October.
"The very narrow range of people close to Mikheil Saakashvili, a part of whom are currently abroad, and some of them are former senior officials of security forces, are actively considering, or rather talking and discussing the possibility of physical elimination of Bidzina Ivanishvili", stated Batiashvili.
According to him, "there is no precise indication that it will happen today or tomorrow, but in any case, they are talking that possibly (if they dare to do this), this will happen before the next presidential election".
Ex-minister admitted he has not vouched for the absolute accuracy of the information, but allegedly he had reason to consider it seriously. "When a person has information of this kind, even not rechecked, he must disclose it", he said, adding, "you haven't heard anything frivolous about Irakli Batiashvili".
Batiashvili has not clarified who exactly of the former top officials who had left Georgia after the parliamentary election, he meant. But he noted, "there are such persons, and they have withdrawn a lot of money", and that "we are talking about really a lot of money".
"They took out from the Ministry of Defence bags of euro - in large amounts, millions ... when the head of the Defense Ministry was Bacho Akhalaia. The day after they lost the election, they also took out a lot of money. This means that their resources and opportunities are great. However, I want to say that according to the information I have received, we are talking not about the decision, but about the fact that this issue is being actively discussed", said the ex-Minister.
According to Batiashvili, the aim of the assassination is return of the "National Movement" to power, since now "they are driven into the corner and know that they are in a difficult situation".
"But I repeat that I speak not of the "National Movement" as a whole. This information concerns a very narrow circle of people who held high-ranking posts, not that this is opinion of the "National Movement" in general", said the former Minister, according to the News-Georgia.
