Brother-in-law betrayed Soso Pavliashvili2013-04-09 17:03
Vakhtang Chhapelia, brother-in-law of famous artist Soso Pavliashvili, stated that the latter financed the murder of the businessman Anton (Avtandil) Aduashvili, who was shot dead in his car in November 2012.
"Anton had a conflict with Soso Pavliashvili. Anton systematically swindled out of a lot of Soso's money. For this we along with Soso decided to punish Anton Aduashvili; I took over the execution, and Soso provided me financial assistance," Chkhapelia said noting that the goal was not to kill Aduashvili but only to wound him.
According to Chkhapelia, he had found a certain man who agreed to do the job for $ 50 thousand. "Most of the amount - 30,000 euros - I brought from Ukraine. Soso Pavliashvili gave them to me (the remaining amount, about $ 12 thousand, I also got from him). I told him that I had found someone who would punish Avtandil Aduashvili. Soso learned of the murder in a few hours but did not say a word. He gave me 10,000 euros to send to Aduashvili's family so that they could cover the costs of the funeral," said Chkhapelia, the News-Georgia reported.
Prosecutor's Office is investigating the criminal case on the murder of the businessman. Earlier media reported that the Georgian Prosecutor's Office allegedly instituted criminal case against the singer. According to media reports, Pavliashvili is suspected of ordering the murder of businessman Avtandil Aduashvili but Prosecutor General of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili denies this information.
"There is no criminal case against Soso Pavliashvili. We are investigating into the murder of the businessman Avtandil Aduashvili last year in Tbilisi involving Pavliashvili's relative as a suspect," said Kbilashvili. According to him, one of the suspects has given incriminating testimony against Pavliashvili, but the investigation has not considered it sufficient factor to institute criminal case against Pavliashvili.
Lawyer of the artist Levan Javakhadze also said in an interview Georgian TV channels that Soso Pavliashvili had no relation to the murder of Aduashvili. "We have no evidence of Pavliashvili's guilt in relation of the murder of the businessman Aduashvili," said the lawyer.
"The Prosecutor's Office is studying the circumstances of this case. Late Avtandil Aduashvili was a childhood friend of Soso Pavliashvili," said Javakhadze. According to him, "this gives reason to recheck a number of circumstances," the Lenta.ru reported.
