Presidential candidate of South Ossetia Stanislav Kochiyev demanded to free opposition leader Alla Dzhioeva from the custody.
As reported by the NR2.ru, Presidential candidate of South Ossetia Stanislav Kochiev made a new statement demanding liberation of the opposition leader Alla Dzhioeva from the custody.
"In our country, there was a system of political repression and persecution of annoying for the power persons for a long time. We can't stand it anymore. Republic, like the last fall, stands on the brink of split. I appeal to the Security Council, as well as to the acting President Vadim Brovtsev with the demand to lift the tension which may lead to civil confrontation in the country.
In order to ensure peace and stability in the Republic the authorities must free Alla Dzhioeva from the custody, to ensure her personal safety and to guarantee the opportunity to engage political activity. Alla Dzhioeva has proved to be one of the leaders of modern South Ossetia, the majority of our people voted for her this fall.
I consider it important to start the democratic process in our country right now and starting from this important step - liberation of Alla Dzhioeva", the edition led the statement by the presidential candidate Stanislav Kochiev.
He also noted that another step to liberate society from "the oppression of the rulingA clique of former President Kokoity (the resignation of Prosecutor General Khugaev and the liberation of Dzhioeva) must inspire the people with reliability that things can really change".
Stanislav Kochiev also told the NR2.ru that he has visited Alla Dzhioeva in hospital. "I can confirm her words that in fact she is under arrest - her ward is guarded by armed men, and clearly no one is going to discharge her from the hospital. This sophisticated form of imprisonment is a new invention of the outgoing government, aimed at suppressing the real political competition and democracy. Man held, in hospital under guard, do not know the reason of their detention. Actually, this is real political repression!", Stanislav Kochiyev told the edition.
Recall, in early march, South Ossetian opposition leader Alla Dzhioeva stated that the authorities had opened a criminal case against her on charges of forcible seizure of power. According to Alla Dzhioeva, she learned this by accident - no one had brought accusations against her. Even now she is in custody in a ward of the Republican Hospital.
Dzhioeva got to the hospital February 9. At 6 p.m., the investigator came to Alla Dzhioeva's election staff and demanded her to proceed to the prosecutor's office for interrogation as a witness. Dzhioeva refused, saying that a witness should be warned about the call to the prosecutor in advance, at least a few hours before the interrogation. A few minutes after the refusal about 15 people in camouflage uniforms and masks broke into the building. According to the witnesses, Alla Dzhioeva suffered a heart attack. At the same time, it was impossible to provide aid to Dzhioeva since no one was allowed to her. After that she was delivered to the hospital.
