EU sets aside EUR 2 mln for Georgia

Georgia has been granted EUR 2 million to help people affected by the conflict in South Ossetia in August 2008 as stated by Louis Michel, European commissioner for development in charge of the EU's relations with developing countries, ITAR-TASS reports.


According to the European commissioner Georgian citizens "affected by the conflict or who had to become refugees are still facing its heavy consequences" including "shortage of food supply". EUR 2 mln the European Commission sets aside will be implemented via the UN Food Program.
