Night Serenades first international festival be held in Batumi

Night Serenades first international festival will be held on August 23-27 in Batumi - Georgia Times reporter. The event initiator is Liana Isakadze, the well-known violinist and conductor. The idea is supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture, Monument Protection and Sports, and Magti communication company.


Isakadze said the festival will be the continuation of the ones traditionally held in Soviet times in Pitsunda [Abkhazia], but were stopped in 1989. In 2002, on Isakadze's initiative, they were successfully resumed in Borjomi under Holiday of Art name, and were held for 3 years. This year the Mayor's Office of Batumi proposed to stage the Night Serenades festival.

Concerts will be conducted in ancient stronghold Gonio, in open air. All the gains from the first concert will be transferred to the First Step the fund for handicapped children.
