USA to train Georgian military to resist rebels

Today implementation of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) starts in Krtsanisi National Training Centre of the Georgian Armed Forces.


31st Infantry Battalion will undergo a six-month intensive training before deployment to NATO-led ISAF operation under command of the Expeditionary Brigade of the U.S. Marine Corps. Georgian soldiers will be trained in counterinsurgency tactics by the Training and Advisory Group (TAG) of the U.S. Marine Corpse for 6 months - Ministry of Fefense of Georgia.

Previously Georgia Times reported that in august U.S. Marine Corps instructors arrived in Georgia to train servicemen chosen for participation in peacemaking operation in Afghanistan in international contingent.
