U.S. Deputy Secretary of State heading for Georgia

James Steinberg, the Deputy Secretary of State, is heading for Caucasus with a visit. He's planned to visit Armenia and Georgia.


The trip is scheduled for February 4th-5th, ITAR TASS reports, citing to the Department of State.

In Yerevan Steinberg will meet with President Serzh Sargsyan, and Edvard Nalbandyan, the Foreign Minister of Armenia.

After that the U.S. diplomat will arrive in Tbilisi to meet with President Mikheil Saakashvili and representatives of Georgian opposition.

Steinberg will finish his European tour in Munich, on February 5ht, at the security conference.
