Levan Gachechiladze called CSA survey “acts of psychological terror”

Today Levan Gachechiladze, one of the Defend Georgia movement leader, called survey by CSA "acts of psychological terror" and pressure on society - Georgia Times correspondent.


"These surveys have nothing in common with the real state of events. These are acts of psychological terror towards society," he said at today's press conference.

In his view, companies, on whose data surveys are based, and on whose request they were held, are fully controlled by the government, in particular, President Mikheil Saakashvili and Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili.

Surveys were conducted in Tbilisi from May 1st to 14th, over 1000 respondents aged 18+ participated.

Out of them 68 per cent stated their intention to vote. The results on candidates:

Gigi Ugulava (ruling party, United National Movement) - 57%;

Irakli Alasania (Alliance for Georgia)-14%;

Gia Chanturia (Christian Democratic Movement)-11%;

Gogi Topadze (Industrialists` Party) -10%;

Zviad Dzidziguri (National Council) -6%;

Nika Ivanishvili (People`s Democrats) 1%;

Davit Iakobidze (Tortladze-Democrats)-1%.

None of the respondents marked other candidates, Giorgi Laghidze and Tamar Vashadze.

64 per cent believe elections will be held in fair and democratic atmosphere; 22 per cent think the elections will be rigged.
