Black Sea Fleet sailors were awarded for courage in the Caucus war

Yesterday first ten sailors of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia were granted medals "For Peace Enforcement" - for courage in the Caucus war (August 2008). The medals were presented by Alexander Kletskov, Vice-Admiral, Commander of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, RIA-Novosti informs.


The medal "For Peace Enforcement" was constituted by the committee on awarding, on August 14th, 2008. It can be granted to officers, warrant officers, navy warrant officers and servicemen at active military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service, border and inner forces, who participated in the events in Caucus (August 2008). Besides, the medal can be presented to military and civilian personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who participated in the humanitarian mission in the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
