Ukraine to receive 15 bn from IMF
Ukraine to receive a USD 15.2 bn credit from International Monetary Fund - Lenta.ru
The money will be allocated within 2 years, and nearly USD 2 bn will be given immediately. The IMF explained the decision saying the country is recovering after a hard period, during which the economy was harmed by exterior factors, aggravated by the domestic situation.
In autumn 2008 the IMF allocated Kyiv USD 16.4 bn for stabilization of economy in conditions of a crisis. Ukraine received over USD 10bn, then aid was suspended because of discords about economic policy in the government. The increase of budget deficit to 12 per cent of GDP in 2009 also played its role.
