Obama to talk to NATO Secretary General
Today in Washington Barack Obama, the U.S. President, will meet with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen - 1news.az.
The sides will discuss the role of the Alliance in promoting interests of the USA in Europe and outside it, including cooperation in Afghanistan.
Obama and Rasmussen will also dwell on the issue of NATO summit in Lisbon.
Yesterday the USA expressed condolences to condolences to the relatives of the two Georgian peacekeepers in Afghanistan: one killed and one seriously wounded.
"First Lieutenant Shukvani served bravely in leading his men and helping the Afghan people build a future free of fear and oppression. We mourn his loss, even as we salute the ongoing dedication and sacrifice of his fellow members of the 31st Battalion," the statement of the U.S. embassy to Georgia said.
