Russian expert compared Saakashvili to Shevardnadze
Alexander Krylov, the leading scientist of the institute of World economy and international relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences stated that Mikheil Saakashvili uses the problem of refugees from South Ossetia for own purposes.
"This problem of refugees, it was used even under Shevardnadze, who demanded mass and one-time return of refugees to Abkhazia and South Ossetia under guard of Georgian police and Georgian army," he said in the air of Golos Rossiyi.
"In fact, they meant returning republics inside Georgia without war. But that time it failed, Abkhazia and South Ossetia clearly understood what threatens them in that case. When Saakashvili came, he forgot about refugee topic and made a stake on military solution of the problem," he said.
According to experts, when failed to solve the problem in military way, Saakashvili returned to issue of refugees.
"In fact, it doesn't mean tomorrow some refugees will come to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, for this they either should agree with authorities of the republics, or crash not only Abkhazia and South Ossetia, but also Russian military bases defending security of the republics. In the nearest decade that variant is impossible," Krylov said.
