Americans to leave Kyrgyzstan
The U.S. will close the centre of transit delivery in Kyrgyzstan right after the end of the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan, stated Anatoly Serdyukov, the Minister of Defense of Russia, after his meeting with Robert Gates, the U.S. Secretary of Defense - Trend.
He added the USA has no plans on deployment of any new military bases in Kyrgyzstan.
Previously Anatoly Serdyukov stated that Moscow and Washington still have discords about missile defense issues.
"The crucial discord remains - they say: our missile defense program isn't directed against you, and we say them that, according to our calculations, it is directed against us," he noted.
Serdyukov highlighted Russia is interested in creating a reliable missile defense system, as complexes are being installed in the territory of Europe.
"Let's analyze threats together and assess where they come from, - the Minister offered. - And only then it will be possible to solve the issue on how to close these threats and if it's necessary to deploy missile defense elements in the regions where it's planned or some other ways can be found."
