Ministry of Defense conceals number of wounded in Afghanistan
According to Georgian mass media, 18 Georgian military has already been wounded, but the authorities conceal it - the VZGLYAD.
The data are kept secret to avoid public dissatisfaction with participation of Georgian peacemakers in this operation.
At the present moment about 1000 military from Georgia are deployed in Afghanistan.
Georgia turned to NATO with a proposal to send its military contingent to Afghanistan in June 2007. It was endorsed at the summit in Bucharest in April 2008. Now 900 Georgian military are serving in the frameworks of ISAF operation.
Statements of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia say in early September Lieutenant Mukhran Shukvani was blown up by a mine and died on site. Another soldier, Alik Ditolendia, came under attack, and lost both legs.
