Kobalia promises Georgia one billion
Vera Kobalia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia claimed that in the last quarter of 2010 intensification of investment inflow can be expected - Business Gruzia. She promised to lure USD 1bn in the country as investments. In her view, it can be achieved.
Georgia hopes for investments from the USA, Great Britain, the UAE, and other countries.
"We try to be diverse and turn our yes on Asia too. China, India, and South Korea are the countries of interest for us," Kobalia said.
It's worthy noticing that according to plan the sum of foreign investments in Georgia this year must amount USD 1 bn. Gruzstat [statistics service] says that since the beginning of the year only 272 mln have come.
