Gilauri disclaimed own words on desire to see Russia in WTO
According to Niko Mchedlishvili, the press secretary of Georgian PM Nika Gilauri, mass media messages about the latter's support of Russia joining WTO are wrong
He specified that Mr. Gilauri meant Georgia would agree with Russia's joining WTO only with condition of Russia's respect for WTO rules.
In remarks at the Atlantic Council, Gilauri said Georgia would continue to press for Russian troops to end their "occupation" of Georgian territory, but that it "has nothing to do" with the WTO vote- Radio Liberty/Free Europe.
Previously information agencies reported Tbilisi wouldn't impede Russia's becoming a member of World Trade Organisation.
"Unfortunately, right now because of occupied territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia these two customs checkpoints [one in Abkhazia and another one in South Ossetia] are not transparent and we are requesting only one thing and this [condition] is to follow WTO rules," mass media quoted.
