Alasania predicts uncontrollable inflation
Irakli Alasania, the leader of Our Georgia-Free Democrats party said the government of the country is unable to control inflation.
Alasania said the present-day budget is ill-planned and artificially expanded - Business-Gruzia. "Financing of important projects in the sphere of education. Budget doesn't imply increase of pensions, aid to poor people. At the same time foreign and domestic debts of the country increased by three times and amounts nearly GEL 10 bn [USD 5.53 bn]. The government cannot control inflation processes. Prices for food and vitally important medicines increased catastrophically," he highlighted in his speech.
"The presented budget draft persuades us Saakashvili's government practically relieved itself of responsibility for its citizens. The aggravation of the existing social crisis is the result of the economic course of the national Movement [United National Movement, the ruling party of Georgia]. We, the free democrats, call the authorities' representatives to debates to let the society see how Georgian authorities care about their people," he added.
