Georgia’s authoritites toughen control over NGOs
The government of Georgia introduces new rules for organisations working in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Novosti-Gruzia reports citing to government.
The new rules are aimed for organisations working in conflict areas, under "Russian military control."
To render urgent humanitarian aid international organisations must fill in a special notification form and send it to the office of the State Minister for reintegration. Within 21 working day the office will either send it remarks or gives permission.
The only exception to the rules is the Red Cross.
In this way Georgian authorities try to gain total control over organisations working in territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
